Could you be an Uncaged volunteer ?

If you have decided to get more involved and play a vital role in helping our campaigning, you can do any or all of the following:

  • Become the Campaign Contact for your town or area
  • Hold occasional street information stalls (the best way to get the massage across to the public)
  • Organise official street collections
  • Place collection boxes in local shops
  • Write letters to your local MP, the local media, and to companies involved in animal testing
  • Organise and set up informative library displays
  • Arrange sponsored events, jumble sales, or car boot sales
  • Join in with or help to organise any local events or demonstrations

We already have several people who hold regular information stalls and street collections for us. They are fantastic way to raise awareness and/or much needed funds, and you really feel that you are making a difference. These activities are far less daunting than they may at first appear. We will give you all the guidance and support you need.

Getting started:

By agreeing to act as our official Campaign Contact in your area, you will be helping to give Uncaged Campaigns a more local voice, which may give us greater access to local media, and local fundraising possibilities. You would carry out or co-ordinate some or all of the activities listed above. Your name could be listed in the Uncaged magazine as the contact for your area, and any relevant enquiries from potential volunteers would be passed on to you.

For information stalls, we will send you petitions, leaflets and posters, and if necessary, help you to obtain permission from the local authority. If there are other stallholding volunteers in your area, we will willingly put you in contact with them.

If you wish to organise an official street collection, Uncaged Campaigns will supply you with a letter of authority to pass on to the Council, and will of course send you the relevant collection boxes etc.

We will send you the relevant leaflets and posters to set up an informative display in your local library/libraries.

Uncaged Campaigns will send you five collection boxes (or more if you have sufficient outlets), with lid-seals and labels, to display in local shops, pubs etc; to be collected quarterly, or when full, if sooner.

If you organise a sponsored event, we will supply you with customised sponsor-forms, and any other assistance required.

MPs are obliged to reply to all letters from their constituents; use this fact to gauge your local MP’s stance, by writing to them regarding vivisection and other animal rights issues. A local person is more likely to get their letters published in the local press than a national group; the more often you write, the better your chances. Also, companies are more likely to listen to personal queries or complaints. In all these cases, send us a copy of your letters and the replies.

If Uncaged Campaigns, or any other group, organise a demonstration or event in your area, you can help out or act as our official local representative (especially if you sign up as the official Campaign Contact for your area).

In addition to the above activities, the Uncaged! magazine contains numerous other action points to follow. All of the action points given in the magazine help to publicise the real facts about the unspeakable practice of vivisection, and are vital factors in our campaigns; your voice can make a difference!

With any or all of the above activities (or any others that you can think of), Uncaged Campaigns will help you out by supplying materials, official letters, background information, standard letters to copy, and a helping hand when needed.

Please get in touch as soon as possible to let us know how you would like to be involved. Many thanks, in advance, for your support.
