Uncaged force P&G's 'Aussie' hair care brand to admit animal testing
Uncaged have had yet another complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority upheld in relation to false animal testing denials by Procter & Gamble. P&G hair care brand 'Aussie' were misleading consumers by claiming 'Aussie products are not tested on animals' on their facebook page.
The Advertising Standards Authority have written to Uncaged today (17 September 2012) confirming that Aussie/P&G have admitted that their products are tested on animals and have therefore agreed to remove the false claim.
Procter & Gamble continue to test chemical ingredients (such as parabens) in Aussie products (and Herbal Essences, Max Factor, Olay etc.) on animals. In just one toxicity test for Aussie ingredients, they killed about 1500 animals. P&G are also part of an industry consortium that is lobbying the EU to scrap a scheduled ban on animal-tested cosmetics.
