KICK
CRUELTY OUT OF CRUFTS
Uncaged and about 20 supporters staged a large protest/information
event at the 'Best in Show' day of the Crufts Dog Show due
to the fact the show's organiser, the Kennel Club, continues to
accept IAMS' sponsorship and publicly defends IAMS' 'research
policy.'
This is despite being presented with all the documentary and video evidence
by both Uncaged Campaigns and PETA.
This pro-IAMS stance means the Kennel Club is contributing to the suffering
endured by animals in IAMS' research. When PETA's investigator
complained that the IAMS' animal enrichment and socialisation programs
were going nowhere, she was told:
"You have pain. You want a solution no matter what it costs.
As times goes [on], the pain gets forgotten. No more pain means you aren't
willing to pay as much for that and that's what's happening
here. [Iams] got hit by animal rights, now they did some dealing and made
some promises - now the animal rights are cooling off, now the pain is
gone. Now, they start looking at things [with] a much cooler head..."
