GLOBAL
BOYCOTT P&G DAY VII:
Saturday 24th May 2003
Uncaged Campaigns are again joining forces with US group In Defense
of Animals, and activists all over the world, for an international day
of action to highlight and oppose Procter &
Gamble's (P&G) poisoning and killing of animals in the development
of their consumer products. Please join us in this successful
and growing anti-vivisection campaign!
The Day of Action Global Boycott P&G Day VII on Saturday 24th May
2003 is this year's centrepiece of our wide-ranging campaign to spread
the boycott of this company far and wide until they permanently cease
harming and killing animals. Last year there were over 125 events in 25
different countries around the world, and over 80 in the UK. Each action
had the same message:
"If you buy Procter & Gamble products, you may as well be holding
the knife yourself!"
P&G on the Back Foot!
Hundreds of thousands of UK consumers - and many more globally - have
already blacklisted P&G products, costing P&G, we estimate, over
£10 million a year in the UK alone! P&G cannot continue to absorb
such losses indefinitely, and their increasingly desperate 'spin' and
concealment of their pro-vivisection lobbying reveal how worried this
company really is by our growing movement for change. The on-going scandal
over IAMS' vivisection is inflicting huge
embarrassing - and damage - on P&G. Once a company as huge as P&G
changes policy, other companies will come under enormous pressure to also
cease animal testing.
The Importance of Being Persistent
Animals suffer at the hands of P&G researchers throughout the year,
so our efforts to stop them must be unremitting. In addition to participating
in Global Boycott P&G Day VII, please also hold demonstrations and
stalls in the weeks leading up to P&G Day and throughout the year.
If you have completed P&G pledges/petitions, please return them to
us by 14th May 2003 for us to submit to P&G's HQ in Newcastle-upon-Tyne
on the eve of P&G Day.
